Love Our Public

Love Our Public

Love our public campaign goes live!

LearnPlay Foundation, based within The Public, employ up to 200 local young apprentices.

One of the reasons we chose The Public as a venue was because it was the only place in the Black Country that would directly allow our young people to work alongside internationally renowned artists and provide them with an aspirational pathway.

Since the announcement on 9 May 2013 that Sandwell Council are looking into alternative uses for The Public, we’ve launched a campaign for people to show their support.

Listed below are a number of ways in which you can make your voice heard. Shout about what’s important to you about The Public, and why it needs to stay.

WHAT CAN YOU DO?

  • Sign the petition created by our apprentices

An online e-petition can be signed here:

http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/love-our-public-petition/

  • Do you use Twitter?

In all your Tweets, please use the hashtag #LoveOurPublic and shout about what The Public means to you. You can also follow them via @_the_public or us at @learnplaytweets and keep up to date with all the developments.

Darren Cooper @sandwellleader is the Leader of Sandwell Council and Jan Britton @janbritton is Sandwell Council’s Chief Executive. You can copy these into your tweets along with the #LoveOurPublic hashtag and @sandwellcouncil.
